It’s that time again when I update you on how the monthly dollar challenge is going! If you’re not familiar with it, you can read about the August Dollar Challenge from the beginning!
To give you a basic jist, every night, we go through our wallets and we pull out all of our $1.00 bills. We only use cash in this household so we always have ones. These bills then get put up and forgotten about until the end of the month. At the end of the month we throw that savings into our ING Electric Orange Checking account and forget about it. We love that account because it’s a checking account so we get a debit card for it (to use in case we need asap access to the funds), but also because they gave us $50.00 to sign up and there are literally no fees.
Anyhow, I wanted to do a very quick update for ya’ll on where we were at for the month. We are 14 days into the month and our August $1.00 envelope now has $27.00 in it! Now that may not seem like a lot but the month is not over!
