Stacy Barr is the face and brain behind the frugal living and personal finance blog, Adventures in Coupons as well as the author of "Six Dollar Family: From Six Dollars to Six Figures". She lives in East Texas with her husband, daughter, 2 cats, and 2 rescued pups that are almost as tall as she is. Stacy loves helping others save and build a better life for themselves as she has done for herself. In her off time, she can frequently be found in front the television making fun of "B" class movies with her hubby, belting out bad karaoke with her daughter, and of course, saving every dime that she possibly can. When asked to describe herself, she will tell you that she is a "perpetual pajama lounger who occasionally writes on a blog." Stacy is very PR friendly and can be contacted by email.
About Stacy

  1. Stacy, Thanks for your reply and I do agree with you! But…The coupons usually say “void if sold.” If you are purchasing a coupon from an online source and then using it, you are violating the terms and conditions of the coupon. Therefore, that coupon no longer has a value, and you are taking money from the store! Doesn’t sound legal to me!

  2. I didn’t delete your comment? I never saw it? The blog framework itself glitches sometimes. I do apologize.

As far as your question, I don’t personally pay for the *coupons.* I pay for the time it takes someone else to clip, sort and I pay for shipping them to me. $1.50 to sort, clip, file and mail the coupons to me is not outrageous and is less than what it would cost me myself to do it…especially since free time to clip is so rare for me these days. If you notice, I promote one clipping service. Why? Because the rates are the same, no matter what coupon you want. There’s nothing more offensive to me than a service that charges 3, 4 or even 5 times more for a coupon just because it’s a sought out coupon. THAT is when you’re paying for the coupons. Wiz Clipz is different though. You pay $1.50 for a clipped pack of 10 coupons shipped. .44 of that $1.50 is the shipping cost. I’d honestly say that someone else’s time to clip 10 different coupons, sort and go to the post office is worth that $1.06…wouldn’t you?

  3. Why was my comment deleted? I had a serious and legit question….Isn’t it illegal to purchase coupons online? The coupons specifically say that they are void if sold. This is a direct violation of the terms of the coupon. Would be helpful to know the truth!

  4. Chris Dodson says:

Albertsons has a Herbal Essences “bundle pack” (one shampoo & conditioner pack) for $5.49 – combining this coupon would make ’em quite affordable as well.
